Interesting Items of the Week: Swords! – 2021 06 27
Short (sometimes) videos or stories about interesting Japanese culture, language, entertainment, and many other things.
This week is all about Japanese swords and knives. For some reason it is really satisfying to watch a sword, or knife, being made. The crackling of the fire, the rythymic hammering of the steel, and the sizzling of hot steel submerged in water are relaxing sounds to me. Most of these videos are in Japanese, although the first is in English, and at least one has English subtitles.
