1980’s Suntory Old Whisky Commercials

Here are 3 Suntory Old Whisky commercials from the 1980’s. All three commercials feature the same Japanese gentleman, I’m assuming some kind of famous guy. The first and third commercials feature fishing in a river, and second features him cutting down trees and making some sort of flute. After that, he sits at a campfire surrounded by ‘dolls’ made out of trees and tree branches. So, I’m guessing he is some sort of famous writer or artist.

Well, I was curious after I realized that I knew some of the pronunciations of the kanji in his name. I looked him up, and found out that he is a playwright and screenwriter. So I was basically correct on guessing his profession. His name is Kuramoto Sou (倉本　聡).
